The 1 sustainable change that saved me hundreds of pounds that I wish I knew before

Let’s be honest… although there is a higher level of awareness, periods are still a pretty tabu topic... but I´m here, not only to give it more visibility but also to give you the ultimate sustainable period solution that is going to help you save money while also being more sustainable.
Girls, we all know periods are expensive. Pads, tampons,… they just cost too much! and given that we used them once a month, our wallets can definitely feel the pressure.
The problem doesn’t end there, the amount of pollution these products create is immense… just to give you an idea, here is some data from only the UK…
-
Women use more than 11,000 disposable menstrual products in their lifetime.
-
Disposal of single-use menstrual products — tampons, pads and applicators generates 200,000 tonnes of waste per year.
-
Most menstrual pads are made from 90% plastic.
-
Plastic products can take up to a thousand years to decompose in landfills or in the ocean.
-
As many as 51 trillion microplastic particles — 500 times more than the stars in our galaxy — litter our oceans and seas, seriously threatening marine wildlife.
-
4.8 pieces of menstrual waste on average per 100m of beach in the UK.

This got me thinking of all the possible solutions I could use to stop using single-use period products, that’s how I found THE MENSTRUAL CUP!
This change was honestly amazing for me. Not only did I eliminate all waste from pads and tampons (pure plastic that will never disappear) but I also found a super comfortable way of dealing with periods. The cup can last up to 12H so that means a lot fewer changes and a lot more freedom for me. It’s also a cheaper alternative, you pay for it once and it lasts up to 5 years (girls let’s save those $$).
Below you can find some brands I can recommend for you ladies:
Very good quality and price. Long-lasting
It’s so easy to use, every time I have to empty it I just take it off, clean it with warm water, insert it back and that’s it! Job done! It also helps my skin, given that pads can cause a lot of irritation on the skin. Once my period is done and the cup is clean, I just boil it for 10 minutes and it’s done. Ready for next time 🎊
I highly recommend this change to every woman reading this. Number of tampons saved on a monthly basis: 36!
